BeeCause Event Raises Money
For Organ Donation Education
December 6, 2011, Ogden – Marnie Bushman, board member of the BeeCause Fashion Show event will present Intermountain Donor Services with a check to go toward educating people about the importance of registering as an organ, eye and tissue donor. The money was raised at the BeeCause Fashion show that was held in Layton last month. Bushman will present the funds to a representative of Intermountain Donor Services on Tuesday, December 6, 10:00 am in the lobby of Ogden Regional Hospital, 5475 Adams Avenue Parkway, Ogden.
“We have enjoyed a great working relationship with Intermountain Donor Services for years,” said Craig Bielik, Ogden Regional Hospital communications director. “It is so rewarding to see people in the community come together for a great cause.”
The BeeCause Fashion Show was organized by four Utah women who have dedicated themselves to helping women by raising money to fight against negative forces that attack women. They decided to dedicate this year’s event to organ, eye and tissue donation because many women in Utah and throughout the United States are in need of a life saving transplant. In addition, women often find themselves in the position of caretaker when a loved one is in need of a transplant.
This year’s event included personal stories from Utahns who have been affected by donation, including a double transplant recipient and a mom whose child will eventually need a transplant. A transplant recipient will be available at the press conference to explain why this event was so important to her.
The BeeCause fashion show was organized by four local women, Clarissa Halverson, Jeni Brockbank, Marnie Bushman and Caroline Liston (Miss Brigham City). All the money raised will be used to provide education about donation in Utah. To learn more about organ donation, please log on to www.yesutah.org.
