The prostate is a tiny gland with a big impact. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men (besides skin cancer). About one man in six will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in his lifetime. If prostate cancer is found during a screening it will likely be at an early, more treatable stage.
A digital rectal screening allows the physician to detect enlargements, bumps or hard areas on the prostate that might be cancer. This exam is only slightly uncomfortable, and can be accomplished quickly.
This screening, in addition to the upcoming blood lab PSA, are important actions you can take to manage your prostate health.
The screening is offered free to H2U members only through this special event by Dr. John Wolthuis and Dr. Rob Wayment of Ogden Clinic who specialize in Urology. Both have extensive experience with prostate issues.
This is a screening only and should take no more than 10-15 minutes. Educational materials will be available. Participants are encouraged to follow up with their personal physician. Appointments required by calling 1-866-887-3999. To join H2U and participate in the screening, call 801-479-2019.
