Turn To Our Experts When Seconds Count
Ogden Regional Medical Center invested more than $11 million into expanding and renovating its Emergency Department and Level II Trauma Center in 2007. Having doubled in size, the center now offers 17 fully-equipped private patient rooms.
The entire department features state-of-the-art technologies, including a command post in the center of every room that allows the medical staff to continuously monitor each patient's status. Other benefits include a voice-activated computer system, electronic patient charting program, automated electronic medication administration record (eMAR) system and advanced diagnostic equipment.
Level II Trauma Center
Ogden Regional is the first hospital in northern Utah to earn national verification as a Level II Trauma Center from the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma. ASC verification - the highest level of achievement for hospital-based programs - is evidence of our commitment to high standards of care for our trauma patients.
The trauma center at Ogden Regional Medical Center has been verified as a Level II Trauma Center by the Verification Committee (VCR), an ad hoc committee of the Committee on Trauma (COT) of the American College of Surgeons (ACS). This achievement recognizes the trauma center’s dedication to providing optimal care for injured patients.
Ogden Regional Medical Center passed verification with no deficiencies, a rare accomplishment.
“Ogden Regional Medical Center has plenty to be proud of when it comes to their trauma program” says Robert Jex, Trauma Coordinator at Utah Department of Health. “There is an exceptionally strong program in place at Ogden Regional. Its strength lies in a dedicated trauma manager and trauma director, highly trained staff and tremendous support from hospital administration. I can unquestionably say that Ogden Regional’s trauma program is exemplary of all others within our state.”

Certified Stroke Center - Nationally Recognized Care
Ogden Regional is a designated primary stroke center, as certified by The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of ApprovalTM.
"This certification means Ogden Regional Medical Center does the right things for stroke patients and does them well," said Jean E. Range, M.S., R.N., C.P.H.Q., executive director, Disease-Specific Care Certification, Joint Commission.
HealthGrades, the nation’s leading healthcare ratings organization, recently recognized Ogden Regional’s Stroke care with a 5-star rating. This is the highest rating given to hospitals for Stroke. This rating also places Ogden Regional in the top 15 percent nationally for Stroke care,
making us one of only 4 Utah hospitals to be recognized for 5-star stroke care by Health Grades.
24/7 Air Ambulance On Site
In addition, Ogden Regional Medical Center is a 24/7, around-the-clock home to AirMed - the University of Utah Hospital's air ambulance service.
An ACS-verified Level II Trauma Center also provides a commitment to trauma prevention, continuing education of trauma team members, and improved trauma care through a comprehensive quality assessment program.
Pre-Hospital 12-Lead EKG Technology
Even before a heart attack victim arrives via ambulance at Ogden Regional Medical Center's ED doors, our emergency physicians and cardiologists have already diagnosed the problem. A machine in ambulances, called 12-lead EKG, transmits a full view of the heart to physicians and specialists at our hospital. This allows doctors to more quickly diagnose and prepare for incoming heart attack victims. This streamlined process saves time and, therefore, reduces damaged heart muscle.
