Think Pink – Bleed Purple!

Fans of the Weber State University Wildcats “bleed purple”, but for the January 19th basketball game against Sacramento State, they will also “think pink.”

Ogden Regional Medical Center and Utah Imaging are teaming up with WSU to present the first-ever “Think Pink – Bleed Purple” basketball game, and are asking everyone to wear pink that night to help raise awareness in our community for the battle with cancer. Bonus - Anyone who is in pink at the game can get 2 for the price of 1 admission tickets!!

About 10,000 new cases of cancer are estimated to appear in Utah this year. Many of the ‘new cases’ could be your family, friends and neighbors. That’s the bad news. The good news is that cancer is an increasing survivable disease if caught early and managed properly. We are dunking cancer!

Ogden Regional Medical Center is proud of the fact that we have been treating cancer patients in our Cancer Treatment Center since 1977- making us the longest running cancer treatment center in northern Utah.

Keeping the fight with cancer top of mind is helping with that, and cancer awareness events remind all of us that, although we are making progress, cancer is still very prevalent. That’s why the Wildcats are going THINK PINK for the game.

Everyone is encouraged to put on pink (as MUCH as possible – let’s make this fun!!) and head out to the game to honor those who have survived cancer. It’s going to be a great night and a lot of fun. The game will include recognizing some “Hometown Heroes” who are cancer survivors; fun prizes for the early birds at the game and a couple of other surprises too.

Think Pink – Bleed Purple - Weber State Wildcats vs. Sacramento State Hornets, January 19, 2013 starting at 7 pm at The Dee Events Center on the Weber State University campus.

If you don’t won anything pink, just wash something white with something red in hot water, that’ll do the trick!
